The KCC Adventure Team Date Night at Amerson River Park
Friday night is date night for my husband and me. Sometimes we go to a movie, sometimes we grab a bite to eat, or sometimes go check out a local band. With the weather being so nice this last week, we opted to do something outside with our adventure cats instead! We decided to take the newly expanded KCC Adventure Team out to our favorite park – Amerson River Park.
In case you missed it, Caster is the newest adventure cat to join the KCC Adventure Team. He did so well at BlogPaws, but all of his adventuring there was indoors. Until this past Friday, he had never been on an outdoors adventure!
While he enjoyed riding around in the stroller through the park, he wasn’t quite sure what to do when we put him on a leash and let him out. He stood and sniffed around, but he didn’t quite get the hang of walking on the leash and following Kylo Ren, Sophie, and Lucy.
Even though Caster didn’t walk on the leash, I am still very impressed with him. He wasn’t scared and he didn’t try to hide or run away. I think he will be a natural, once he has been outside a little more and gets used to it. We will keep working with him! π
Sophie, Kylo, and Lucy, on the other hand, were awesome leash walkers as usual. They enjoyed being outside and following the pathways through the park. They caught the eye of many passersby as well, though not all of the reactions we received were positive. One woman that passed us was terrified of them.

Amerson River Park is definitely our favorite local park, and we always enjoy our visits there. There are so many great walking paths. They also have spots to put canoes and kayaks in, which is where we have taken Sophie and Kylo Ren canoeing before. It won’t be long before Caster joins the ranks of Canoe Master as well!
We will be looking forward to our next date night with the KCC Adventure Team!
Sunday, June 4th is Hug Your Cat Day! This Friday we will be hosting our annual Hug Your Cat Day photo party. If you would like to be included in Friday’s post, please send us your photos of you hugging your cat(s) by Thursday, June 1st at 5:00pm. We hope to have lots of cute photos to share for our post on Friday! You can email your photos to kittycatchronicles@gmail.com.

I was so inspired by seeing your adventure cats in the park that I harnessed Little up and took her out for a walk. I doubt she’ll ever be a full-fledged adventure cat, but she does enjoy the outdoors.

Thank you so much for your information about the stroller. It helps a lot! I do like that it has a large space, and looks like your fur kids are enjoying a lot π

Clearly the woman that was afraid was crazy- who could be afraid of these cuties? I will try to get some hug photos.

Sorry, Kylo … but you’re not scary at all … you’re an adorable ball of floof. But I am super impressed with Sophie … that girl doesn’t let anything get in her way … I truly admire that.

Sorry we have gotten so far behind in reading and commenting. Between biking, swimming and yard work, it seems like computer time is limited. Absolutely loved this video. Cannot imagine anybody being frightened by this sweet gang of adorable critters. Love you all bunches. Continue having such great adventures. Astrid has been a super cuddle bug lately, which Mom is loving. She sends Sampy a zillion kisses and a lifetime’s worth of her love. How fun! You really make me want to get a harness for Jasmine again. She had one as a kitten but has outgrown it. I bet she’d love a walk like this. Love the family photo too! So cute π

Love the cat stroller!! They are all so beautiful.

You are just such cool humans! I want to go canoeing myself but you guys take your PETS with you! Amazing! I have been wanting to leash train my cats as well. Loved this post – what a great place to take your pets on adventure!

That looks like a fun date night! I’m so happy Caster is enjoying life as an adventure cat!
Shayla says
Oh my gosh, too fun! I can only imagine all of the attention your adventure crew gets on walks!
Heather Wallace says
I love the Caster jumped in with all four paws! Dogs need leash training so why wouldn’t cats? It is hard to believe that anyone could be afraid of those beautiful furries.
Jana Rade says
Seeing a cat outside on a leash is still a rare sight. But it does seem that cats can enjoy walks as much as dogs do.
Kamira Gayle says
Aww I love the video of date night. The kitties do so well on their leashes. You have to be proud parents. Why in the world would anyone be scared of them? They are so precious. One happy family. Thanks for taking us along on date night!
Ruth Epstein says
I love the idea of taking your cats out with you, that is just awesome. There is a woman that comes to our dog park with a stroller and a cat and lil dog in – that does concern me when the big dogs are running around and have told her to just really be careful.
Sweet Purrfections says
I imagine you did get some funny looks with walking 3 cats and a dog. Why in the world would that woman be terrified of them? That’s crazy!
Robin says
Awww! That is such a perfect date. Catster looks like he was enjoying all of the scenery. It is so funny that someone was afraid of Sophie and Kylo Ren. They are so cute! Humans are just weird sometimes.
Dolly the Doxie says
Afraid of a cat on a leash really? Those are some amazing adventure cats for sure, at Blogpaws we had dinner with Teri and one of her cats. The looks she gets when people realize there is a cat in the stroller! Dolly on her leash, no big deal.
Karen says
Afraid of the Adventure Cats??!! What is up with that? I think it’s great you have the “team”, I wish Marty was adventurous, but alas, he prefers to stay inside. Looking forward to Caster’s first adventure!
Talent Hounds says
I can’t imagine how anyone would react any way other than with sheer glee and joy at the sight of your Adventure Cats Team! So happy to hear that Caster’s on his way to keeping up with all the rest, I can’t wait to hear more about how he progresses to being a full adventurer everywhere he goes.
Tenacious Little Terrier says
Well some people are afraid of Mr. N too! It sounds like Catster’s first outdoor adventure went well.
